Birds of the United States

I shot this American Avocet, (Recurvirostra americana) yesterday about 30 miles west of Othello Washington. While shooting Burrowing Owls, a fellow photographer generously divulged this location, and as you can see, it was worth the short drive to get to the small pond where a flock of perhaps two dozen birds were straining food from the mud base of the pond.
