I found this wild Stallion eating newly grown grass on the side of a gravel road as I explored the area around Logan Lake in search of wildlife. He was being pestered by hundreds of insects (no see um's perhaps) which I patiently removed from this photo, except for a few on the left side of the image. As you can see, he has a few war wounds on his hide, no doubt a result of fights over breeding rights. He is also quite thin, but will quickly fatten up as the grasses come up. I plan a trip the Chilcotin this fall to see the many Wild Horses of the grasslands there. Filename: Wild_Horse-Logan Lake-_02P9331-14x14
