  • This was my accomodation at Hobas Camp, Namibia, one of many stops on this 6 week long trip. These camps are built with a giant boulder forming part of each hut. And look,no need for lawn care! This area, near Fish Canyon is littered with giant boulders and these amazing rock formations are everywhere. I'm continually amazed that people do such an incredible job of making do with what is on hand
  • A late morning shot at the Dead Vlei in Namibia. A river once flowed through this area, and the banks were obviously lined by many trees. Over the centuries, the river dried up, and the trees eventually petrified in place. If you look closely, you will see a single human being between two trees. He's not petrified!!! I thought he added some perspective to the shot. We walked in here very early in the morning to get as many shots as we could before a few hundred other people eventually showed up and lined the top of the dune.
