The African Fish Eagle is a large bird, and the female, at 3.2-3.6 kg (7-8 lbs) is larger than the male, at 2-2.5 kg (4.4-5.5 lbs). Males usually have a wingspan of about 2 m (6 feet), while females have wingspans of 2.4 m (8 feet). The length is 63-75 cm (25-30 in). They are very distinctive in appearance with a mostly brown body and large, powerful, black wings. The head, breast, and tail of African Fish Eagles are snow white and the hook-shaped beak is mostly yellow with a black tip.

The Dark Chanting Goshawk (Melierax metabates) is a bird of prey in the family Accipitridae. Dark Chanting Goshawk is a large, long-tailed, broad-winged hawk, with a 105 cm wingspan. It is slate-grey above and white with fine barring below. The tail is black and white. In flight, the wings are grey with black tips. The flight is stiff and mechanical. This species derives its name from the breeding season song, which consists of chanted flutes and whistles.

The Skimmers, Rhynchopidae, are a small family of tern-like birds in the order Charadriiformes, which also includes the waders, gulls and auks. <br />
This species is the only bird with distinctive uneven bills with the lower mandible longer than the upper. This remarkable adapation allows them to fish in a unique way, flying low and fast over streams. Their lower mandiable skims or slices over the water's surface ready to snap shut any small fish unable to dart clear. They are the only birds known to have slit-shaped pupils. They are one of the most agile birds in air that gather in large flocks, loafing on river and coastal sand banks
